Any system is attackable. It is especially tempting for scammers to gain access to accounts with payment information and other people’s contact information. That is why personal cabinets of InfluencerSoft’s service clients, especially those who are widely known on the Internet, are especially attackable in this regard.
It should be noted that no matter how high the standards of the service protection is, there is always a risk of hacking the account, especially if the personal cabinet owner doesn’t follow basic security rules regarding their password.
Check your password for accordance to these simple rules:
The password must be complex
When choosing a password, forget about “qwerty”, “123456” and follow these password selection standards:
- the password must consist of at least 8 characters! 10-12 characters is better;
- The password must contain symbols of at least three categories from the following:
- capital letters of the English alphabet from A to Z;
- lowercase letters of the English alphabet from a to z;
- decimal digits (from 0 to 9);
- non-alphabetic characters (for example,!, $, #,%)
- The password must not contain the name of the user’s account or any part of it. Do not use passwords that contain your login.
Using such passwords you can be protected from the simplest password hacking.
The password should not be accessible to scammers
It should be stored in your head or in a closed section of your computer, protected by a separate master password or in a specialized password storage service.
Master Password is the password used to protect stored passwords and other personal information.
If you store the password in a word-file or in a notebook, then anyone who has access to your device always has access to your password. And no matter how good the password is, it won’t help.
You can’t trust unverified sources
Cases when you receive a letter with a demand to immediately change your account settings from different services are frequent. To make such changes you are kindly offered a link to authorize in the system in the email. In fact, this is a hoax and it is called “phishing”.
Phishing is a kind of Internet fraud, the purpose of which is to gain access to confidential user data, i.e. logins and passwords.
Always log in to the system from the page only, typing it manually in the browser’s address bar. For our service, use http://influencersoft.com/ .
Never log in using the links from an email, as they may be fake.
Keep your computer clean
So, you have a strong password, you are protected from phishing attacks, and hackers can not so easily get your password. But there is one more point: malware and viruses. In order to protect yourself from them, never download files from emails if you are not certain of their security and the addressee’s reliability.
Always check the files for viruses before the installation.
For security reasons, we recommend using MalawareBites and licensed Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Also, regularly check incoming files and the system as a whole for viruses.
Do you think that all the above points are unnecessary? Believe us, the hacking of accounts is not as a rare thing as it might seem, and in the vast majority of cases it is due to the failure of elementary security rules.
Be vigilant and you will avoid these problems!
